"Lab 101"

May 1994

Ira:     AIDS runs rampant in Africa.  Where did it come from?  I have heard it said that it was introduced.  A germ warfare experiment gone awry?  A drug company running tests?  Racism?  Suspicions abound, after all we take what we need, and dump what we don't, throughout the third world.  Is it any wonder that it was 'started by green monkeys' seems a lame theory to many?

I do not believe this, but then I have not been the brunt of racist persecution.  The idea lent itself to at least the possibility that greed and hatred were capable of anything.

Corliss:     Man's claim of superiority over his worldly domain is of little meaning to the micro-organism.
